Buck toothed Christians

I submit to you that the church of modern times or maybe should I say, present day, is no longer a church. I also submit to you that the church of the past is a long forgotten item that stood for true repentance, holiness, salvation, an altar where one or many could go to pray and also offered the time in which to do it, it stood for real prayer, true character of its members and people that you knew you could count on no matter what kind of car you drove or what name brand your clothes were, it mattered not how large your bank account was – all that mattered is that everyone that could be brought in was gotten in and they were preached to and shown how to live by example, word and deed of those more mature Christians.
They visit each other, see the very same people day in and day out and no one new is in the church and at times it makes a body wonder do they really want growth or do they just mention it from time to time because of the politics of it? Millions of souls all over the USA, Canada and other areas and the church sits there and instead of being a beacon on a hill they have become more like a mortuary with a bunch of wind up robots inside - - twist a key on their back and watch them go and finally they wind down and slump over and that’s it……no spark, no life, no growth….just less time, less visitation, less souls reached in the respective communities, less, less, less….. Sounds like a spiritual diet to me and definitely one that does not produce any good.
I hear so many people say well there are a lot of “New Christians" or those who have not been saved long and maybe they are just not where they need to be yet, Etc., Etc., Etc., This is after you ask “why does whomever have that issue"? There is an excuse on every hand and every corner turned there is a reason given why “little Johnny" has a runny nose and it takes Six people to help him blow it –
Mature or supposedly mature Christians are to help grow the younger ones and while it is true that we all sin and make mistakes and must find forgiveness in and through Christ – we cannot go around petting everyone or allowing them to remain babies in the Lord and in their walk with Christ. When this is done it deflects growth, causes serious spiritual as well as moral and emotional issues that otherwise would not have been had things gone right in the first place. Quit worrying about everyone’s feelings and tell them the truth and make men and women out of them. I submit this thought as well – what the church as a whole has become today is almost an Apostasy and maybe in fact is Apostasy – for the church has turned from being a strong pillar of faith and a place of standing in any community to nothing more than a place that is lampooned and lambasted on a daily basis and with due cause. It once promoted Jesus Christ and Him Crucified to a community and world and now it has more the feel of a social club where you can eat, drink and be marry and have need of nothing and all the while the community outside the doors is going to hell in a hand basket.
I have done a survey in which I sent out several letters to various churches – told them of a cussing pastor we met and saw while in Saskatchewan – told them of the “open can" policy that states you can drink beverages in the sanctuary and “pop" the top in the middle of service and etc…. I got 2 I am shocked letters back – the rest that wrote back said – oh! Yeah! Sounds like you have been here before, how did your family like it?
The truth is, the Church, at least as it regards the institution, has already been cut off. While there definitely is a “Remnant" that is truly living for God, as with Israel of old, that “Remnant" is small ( Rom. 9:27).
The seven Messages that Jesus gave to the seven Churches of Asia portray the entirety of the Church Age from the time of its inception on the Day of Pentecost to the close of that Dispensation. The Message of Christ to the Church at Laodicea presents the last stage of the Church, in fact, the time in which we now live. In other words, the Laodicean Church is the apostatized Church, and pertains to the modern Church of this day.
Jesus said of this Church:
“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you were cold or hot. So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue you out of My mouth (vomit you up)".
“Because you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and do not know that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked" ( Rev. 3:15–17).
At any rate the very reason for all this and more is that the church is full of people that are babies, spiritually immature milk drinking babies. The mature always have excuses for them and why they cannot or have not done better.
I say to the mature in the crowd this:
CUT THE CORD –
You know like when a woman gives birth, the cord between mother and child is cut or the child will not develop properly.
Far too many pew dwellers are still drinking from a bottle and they have been Christians for 2 years, 19 years, 20 years, whatever the case may be. Plenty long enough to stand on their own two feet, yet the “mature" Christians will not push them forward as it is easier to acquiesce. What if as parents, we treated our children as people do many Christians? There would be sickness, financial heartache and ruin, emotional trauma and a myriad of other things I could say or describe – it would be spiritual and mental chaos in this world in which we live…
However, who in their right mind does not want their child to Excel in all ways? They have to be taught and shown or they will be midget minded all their lives and for no reason other than laziness and or complacency.
You know what happens if you leave a pacifier in a Childs mouth too long?
They become buck toothed, their teeth protrude forward in an unflattering manner and this causes issues with teeth, gums, jaw problems (TMJ) and any other host of things which we can attest. So if this is so in the physical we do know that in the Spiritual it also the same.
Do we want more than our share of “buck toothed" Christians on the loose?
