Night Cometh

As I was speaking to my cousin last night she made a few statements and in light of that this article was born.

I love you Kim!

John 6: 4-7

4 I must work the Works of Him Who sent Me while it is day: the night comes, when no man can work.

5 As long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.

6 When He had thus spoken, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,

7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

As I look at these wonderful verses I see them as follows and I hope at the end of this brief article, you will see that same thing: Serving Jesus and being a witness outwardly to others is very important.

I would say that in verse 4 maybe it should have started and been translated as “we" must work the works… Jesus was speaking but in the truth of it, I see that He (Jesus) meant that these works which He did should be continued by all who truly follow Him. He spoke both of His life span which would end in about 90 days or so after He made this statement. Some people believe it would be 6 Months but due to their calendar and days being shorter (6PM to 6AM was an entire day at that time) than ours now, I have shortened it to three Months. So in Him saying He must work while it is day referred to His life span here on earth and as well the life span of each and every true believer who dares to go out and witness of Christ to every person they meet on the highways and byways and in every nook and cranny they stumble upon or come across.

The NIGHT COMETHwhen no man can work. At the end of our life span we must indeed face eternity and we also must face what we have done on this life. Have we helped our Christian Brothers and Sisters first before all, have we helped each and every sinner we met in one way or another and have we spoken the name of JESUS to them point blank? As I say help our Christian Brothers and Sisters , simply I mean, that those who are eating meat should introduce that aspect and fact to those who are yet on milk so that they too may become bold witnesses for Jesus Christ.

What you have or have not done will face you in eternity and you can settle it here by standing before the cross of Christ now and doing all you possibly can for Him or you can face it at the Great White Throne Judgment ( Revelation 20:1-15), and there you do not want to be. Night Cometh and when it does where will you be found, where will those whom you have encountered be found? Have you done all you can to reach the lost – Night Cometh .

In verse 5 Jesus clearly, beautifully and wonderfully proclaimed that He was the light of the World –(His earthly ministry) and He knew His power and also that He did for the moral world( hearts of men) what the Sun in the Sky does for us. Light, Heat, Warmth, Nutrition, Power and more, He gave life and still does to all who ask as we witness to them and share this great gospel with them.

Verse 6 is meant to express to the morally blind eyes of men Christ in a body of lowly clay, animated by Divine Breath; the clay symbolized His Humanity, and the moisture of His Lips the life that animated it. The anointing of the eyes of the blind man with clay was meant to serve as a symbol of the human Body of Christ serving as the Perfect Sacrifice for sin.

Verse 7 Here now and at last we find ourselves at the pool of Siloam – This represents the Blood of Jesus shed on the cross which cleanses each and every believer from Sin…Praise the Lamb of God forever more. He was the final sacrifice; He paid it in full on Calvary’s cross He is our risen savior, King of Kings, Lord of Lords and soon coming King - OH!! I just got happy again…..person reading you should be shouting and all the stuffy corners and cobwebs in your heart and life should have just been blown away….this is JESUS full throttle. The verse continues and it shows us another great truth and of course the Holy Spirit through the writer placed it right where it needed to be. The ‘interpretation’ means “ Sent" Jesus was sent from God for the salvation of the earth/those who will dare to believe and convince and show others to believe and as well HOW to believe. Contrary to popular belief and teaching in many of today’s pulpits – Christianity does not rub off and people are all of a sudden “ poof" saved, like smoke appearing from the grassy knoll. There are some now who barely speak English and do not read it well at all and they need help and no one reaches out to them, they see them busy with church activities and so they just think “ well – they are Ok – “How so far from the truth that is and how sad indeed – that as close as some people are they are so far away from Jesus and each other. The basics are not even being told, taught or shown - just “ works" and that is NO FOUNDTAION AT ALL. Proverbs 11:6

The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness. (There are two types of righteousness: 1. Imputed Righteousness, which comes from the Lord, and is given to Believers upon Faith in Christ and the Cross; and, 2. Self-righteousness, which comes about by works, which God will not recognize.)

Ephesians 2:8-10

8 For by Grace ( the Goodness of God) are you Saved through Faith ( Faith in Christ, with the Cross ever as its Object); and that not of yourselves ( none of this is of us, but all is of Him): it is the Gift of God ( anytime the word “Gift" is used, God is speaking of His Son and His Substitutionary Work on the Cross, which makes all of this possible):

9 Not of works ( man cannot merit Salvation, irrespective what he does), lest any man should boast ( boast in his own ability and strength; we are allowed to boast only in the Cross [Gal. 6:14]).

10 For we are His workmanship ( if we are God’s workmanship, our Salvation cannot be of ourselves), created in Christ Jesus unto good works ( speaks of the results of Salvation, and never the cause), which God has before ordained that we should walk in them. ( The “good works" the Apostle speaks of has to do with Faith in Christ and the Cross, which enables the Believer to live a Holy life.)

As I end here and verse 7 ends – we find out that “he came seeing" spiritually refers to all who are washed in the precious shed Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; can now see only then can we truly “see".

It is all about Jesus and what He did and who He is and what wee are to be in Him and what we should do for others: WITNESS and SHOW THEM JESUS.

Night Cometh

Have you done all you can for Jesus and your neighbor?
